White powdered crystals, free flow, specific gravity 1.532 (17; C), easily absorbs moisture, and forms a cake, soluble in water, and the solubility varies as the temperature increases, sublimes at 340º C. Industrial grade appears little corrosion, and agricultural grade appears strong corrosion.

Use:
Industrial Use:
It is mainly used for making dry cell and storage battery, ammonium salt, category, dyeing aid, electroplating bath additive and analytical reagent. It's also used in tanning, pharmacy, precision casting and photography.

Agricultural Use:
It is a kind of fine nitrogenous fertilizer, its nitrogenous proportion is higher than (NH4)HCO3 and its quality is stable and it is not easy to volatilize. It is especially good for the growth of rice, wheat, corn, cotton, and vegetables etc.
Agricultural NH4Cl is also a fine raw material for producing compound fertilizer.
